May Club Demonstration – Pop Open Gift Box
I saw this darling "Pop Open" box and just had to try it and then use it in my clubs this month as a demonstration. It looks complicated, but is SO simple to make. I ended up using a few retiring products, but you can certainly use what you have on hand, or order some of the BRAND NEW PRODUCTS from the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up Annual Catalog.
Isn't this just the cutest box? And you just pop open the sides and it holds a LOT
I ended up putting in some of the Chocolate Covered Macadamia Nuts we found in Hawaii! YUM
It measures approximately 4" tall and 3 3/4" wide – so it will hold LOTS of treats!
One you have it filled, it just pops back into shape!!
LOVE IT!
Here's a quick tutorial on making this darling box
Supplies
Card Stock 8 1/2" x 6" Watermelon Wonder
2 pieces Designer Series Paper 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
Sticky Tape (NEW PRODUCT COMING Tear & Tape Adhesive replaces the Sticky Strip Tape Item #138995)
Tea Lace Paper Doilies (129399)
Whisper White 1/4" Cotton Ribbon (134567)
2015-2017 InC Color Blossom Accents (138383)
Stamp Set Photopolymer Lovely Amazing You (140594)
Label Bracket Punch (132153)
Deco Labels Collection Framelits (130102)
Score your 8 1/2" x 6" piece of Card Stock 4" and 8" on the long side and 1" and 5" on the short side
Here's a template
Snip up to the score lines on bottom and top at the 4" mark on th etop and on the 2", 4" and 6" marks on the bottom
Score from the 2" mark to the score line as in template below using a ruler and a stylus making a triangle in each "square". I outlined the score lines in ink, so you could see them!
Trim off the ends on the 1/2" tab – add Sticky Tape to the tab
Burnish all score lines
Fold tab and adhere to form the box
Decorate before closing the bottom (it's easier)
Cut two pieces of designer series paper 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
Fold over and gently pinch the top in a small crease (to find the center)
Place the center in the paper trimmer and cut from the center to the point
Do the same for the other side – center to the point
You will have three pieces to adhere to the front and back of the box
Place the largest Deco Label Framelit over the top and under to cut out just the top of the box
and run through the Big Shot
Decorative Top!!
Add Sticky Tape to two opposite sides on the bottom and adhere together
Decorate your Box
I added 1/2 a Tea Lace Paper Doily to each side
And then added some sticky tape around the top and some 1/4" Whisper White Cotton Ribbon along with a bow
And then one of the In Color Blossom Accents
And a sentiment – "Love your more than Chocolate" from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set!!
What a darling little box – I hope you will try it – please share when you do!!
