Reflections Technique Lovely as a Tree Tutorial

I saw this beautiful technique called the "Reflections Technique" on Dawn Olchefske's blog and I just fell it LOVE with it.

Lovely as A Tree stamp set is, I believe, the oldest stamp set in the current catalog.  It's SUCH a versatile set and can be used for any occasion!!

 

Supplies: 

Stamp Set:  Lovely As a Tree (115026, page 114), Perfect Punches (WM 117022, CM 120516, page 140)

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Window Sheets (114323, page 216)

Ink:  Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Old Olive

Embellishment:  Silver Brads (104336, page 199)

Punches:  Curly Label (119851, page 209), Ticket Corner (119867, page 212)

Big Shot:  Houndstooth Embossing Folder (123134, page 218), Movers & Shapers Curly Label Punch Frame (114506, page 221)

 

Step 1.  Cut Whisper White Card Stock 3 ½” Square.  Use Ticket Corner punch on all 4 corners.  Stamp trees at top of 3 ½” square in Early Espresso.

 

Step 2:  Cut Window Sheet 3” x 5”.  Stamp trees on Window Sheet. 

 
 

Step 3:  Turn window sheet over and line up below previous stamp on whisper white.  Rub ink off window sheet onto card stock. (TIP:  Hold window sheet tightly while rubbing ink,  or it can slip)

Step 4:  Using a sponge dauber add Old Olive ink to the landscape area.  I started by inking up my sponge dauber – then “stamping” off, so it wasn’t too intense – you can always add more, but can’t take it away!!

 

Step 5: Next add Marina Mist to the “reflection” and a bit light touch to the top

 

 

Step 6.  Add piece of Early Espresso to the back of the focal piece (cut 3 ¾” square) also using the ticket corner punch.

 

Step 7:  Run piece of Marina Mist Card Stock cut 2” x 5 ½” through Houndstooth embossing folder.  Apply Old Olive strip cut ½” x 5 ½ to Marina Mist and then adhere to front of Whisper White card stock base. 

Step 8: Apply focal piece to front of card. 

Step 9: Stamp “My Friend” from Perfect Punches Stamp Set in Early Espresso on Whisper White and cut with Curly Label Punch.  Back with Movers and Shapers Curly Label frame.  Adhere to front of card with dimensionals. 

Step 10:  Add two silver brads.
