Katakolon, Greece, July 12th

This will be my last post about our trip

We had a great time and now looking forward to the next one

MAUI in 2020

From Athens we traveled overnight to Katakalon

It's on the Western Coast of Greece

And their claim to fame is that they hosted the Ancient Olympics beginning in 776 BC

The games were an honor to the God Zues and there was a large statue of him that was covered in copper.  Gone now, of course, but they have depictions of the statue

The Stadium was where the games were held and could hold 45,000.  Only men were allowed to watch
