July Club Projects

My downline, Shelly, showed us the Baby Wipe Technique during our May club meeting (Thank you Shelly). It was awesome, so I just had to try it and used it for a demo at this month's meeting.

Here are the cards I demoed

Ink:  Melon Mambo, Old Olive

Embellishments:  Subtles Designer Buttons Rose Red (119745, page 186)

Punches:  Wide Oval (119849, page 202), 5-Petal Flower (119880, page 200), Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (119275, page 200), Scallop Trim Border (118402, page 200)

I saw this card on Stamper's Connection ( a demo only website for sharing projects).  This uses the baby wipe technique to make a "plaid" background.  I want to thank Denise Kasanda for the inspiration.  After making my plaid background, I used it to make this card.

Stamp Set:  Well-Scripted (from the Occasions Mini Catalog)

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Old Olive, Glossy White Baby Wiped

Ink:  Melon Mambo

Embellishments:  Old Olive Satin 5/8” ribbon (117292, page 191)

Punch: Wide Oval (119849, page 202)

Big Shot:  Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (120175, page 214)

Here's a little tutorial on how to make the plaid backgrounds.

You will need reinkers in the colors you are going for. Here I used Melon Mambo and Old Olive.

1 Baby Wipe folded (I used a cheap paper plate to save on some of the mess!!)

Add your colors to the baby wipe – I added Melon Mambo first and then Old Olive

Now swipe your “ink pad” over the Glossy White Cardstock

Now swipe vertically

It just takes a couple of minutes to dry and you are ready to add it to you card

I then punched out the flowers with the 5-Petal Flower Punch and mounted them on the card above.  I also ran a piece through the Big Shot and made the backing for my sentiment using the Lots of Tags Sizzlet (114508, page 211)

I used the left-over half to make a card front – ran it through the Big Shot using the new Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (120175, page 214)

Tomorrow I will share how to use your baby wipe as an ink pad!!
