Gatefold Explosion Card – Club Project for May

We made these in our club meeting this month!

 This is definitely a WOW card, but SO easy to make

Measurements

Basic Black Card Base 8" x 4" scored at 2" & 4" 

Petal Passion Designer Series Paper 8" x 4" scored at 2" & 4"

Front panels cut 2 – 3 7/8" x 1 7/8"

Belly Band 9" x 1"

Basic Black for inside 2 5/8" x 2 5/8"

Whisper White for inside sentiment 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Instructions

Score both the Basic Black Card Base and the Designer Series Paper at 2” and 4”• On the designer series paper make two small pencil marks at the 4” on the 8” side both top and bottom 

• Fold up one corner to the pencil mark and burnish well with bone folder being careful to line up evenly along the top  

• Turn and fold the other side•

 
• Fold backwards along the score line back – when this is done and turned, there will be a “natural” well•  

 

• Do the same to the other side and then fold up into a square pushing in the top and bottom

 
• Fold on both score lines on the Basic Black.• Add adhesive to the back of the designer series paper and place it inside the card base

 
• Add adhesive to both “triangles” and fold in the sides of the card base and adhere• Add the two pieces of designer series paper to the front panels

 
Belly Band

• Wrap the 9” x 1” piece of Basic Black around the card and adhere with Tear & Tape.  Wrap it around snugly and not too tight as otherwise it won’t come off easily

 
• Stamp the sentiment for the outside on Whisper White and adhere to a Starburst Basic Black.• Add some dimensionals to the Belly Band and adhere the sentiment•  

• Stamp the inside sentiment on Whisper White and adhere to the Basic Black and to the inside of the card.  Remember to stamp the sentiment on the angle!!
