Fancy Folds Card Class #3 Slider or Swing Card

This is also a fun card – and SO many ideas can be done with it.  It would be a cute Halloween card with a Happy Halloween on the front and maybe "BOO" when you swing the card around!!   I'll try to do that this week!!

Supplies:

Stamp Set:  Four Frames (WM 123440 CM 123442), Just Believe (WM 116948, CM 120453, page 109), Elements of Style (WM 118611, CM 120045, page 134)

Card Stock:  Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla, Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper (122357, page 184)

Embellishment: 16” of  ¼” Marina Mist Grosgrain Ribbon (120929, page 195)

Punches:  Decorative Label (120907, page 209)

Big Shot:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder (119976, page 218), Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (117335, page 219)

 

Measurements:

Crumb Cake:  Cut 1 for card base: 6 ¾” x 5 ½”

Marina Mist:  Cut 2:  4” x 2 ¾”, Cut 1:  5 ½” x 1”

Very Vanilla:  Cut 1:  3 ½” x 2 ¼”

Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper:  Cut 2:  3 ¾” x 2 ½”, Cut 1: 5 ½” x ¾”

 

Instructions:

 

• Slide your 5 1/2" x 6 3/4" cardstock into the paper cutter horizontally.  Line up the cardstock at the 2 3/4" mark, and score from 0" to 1 1/4" as well as from 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Flip your card and do the same on the other side.
  • Slide your cardstock into your paper cutter vertically. Line it up at the 4 1/4" mark.  Cut from 1 1/4" to 2 3/4" to meet your score line.  Lift your cutting blade, put it down on your second score and cut up to 5 1/2".  Take your paper out and repeat this step on the opposite side
  • Slide your cardstock into your paper cutter horizontally again. Line it up with the 5 1/2" mark.  Cut from 1 1/4" to 4 1/4", connecting your two horizontal cuts.  Turn your cardstock around and repeat this step on the opposite side.
  • Run card base through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  Run half the card through and then the other half
  • Stamp Four Frames flower frame on Very Vanilla card stock.  Punch out with Decorative Label Punch.  Add “Friends” sentiment from Just Believe Set.  Punch a piece of Marina Mist with Decorative Label Punch (to save card stock, I used the piece of 4” x 2 ¾” – it will be covered with designer series paper).  Frame “friend” sentiment with the Marina Mist. 
  • Run 3 ½” x 2 ¼” Very Vanilla through the Big Shot with Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Mount this piece on Beau Chateau designer series paper and mount this on Marina Mist and onto the back of the “swing” part of the card. 
  • Stamp frame from Just Believe set on Very Vanilla.  Stamp “For You” from Elements of Style piece.  Cut out with scissors and mount with dimensionals
  • Mount 5 ½” x ¾” Beau Chateau DSP on top of 5 ½” x 1” Marina Mist.  Tie Marina Mist ¼” Grosgrain Ribbon ribbon around.  Add a piece of Sticky Strip  to back of ribbon and mount on left front side of card.
