Day of Gratitude Snowflake Emboss Resist

While prepping for a workshop, I have been busy making lots of holiday cards.  I love embossing and the emboss resist technique is always a favorite!  Here's one I made

Stamp Sets:  Day of Gratitute (WM 120835, CM 121148, page 7, Holiday Mini 2010), Grateful Greetings (116511, page 27)

Card Stock:  Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Whisper White

Ink:  Marina Mist, Versa Mark, Clear Embossing Powder

Embellishments:  Marina Mist 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (119751, page 191), Glimmer Brad Basics (121003, page 36, Holiday Mini 2010)

Punch:  Decorative Label Punch (120907, page 25, Hoiday Mini 2010)

The emboss resist technique works SO well.  First I stamped the large image from Day of Gratitude in Versa Mark – I sponged some Marina Mist, Baja Breeze and Bashful Blue onto the stamp – then stamped on Whisper White Card Stock.  I then poured clear embossing powder over it and heat set it with my heat tool.  I again sponged more Marina Mist over the figure.  The sponging brough tou tthe snow flake!

I then cut out the stamped image and cut it in 4th's.  I added these pieces to a 1 5/8" square piece of Whisper White Card Stock and mounted all on a 1 1/4" piece of Cajun Craze card stock.  These were placed on Crumb Cake and then tied my ribbon around both and attached to Marina Mist card base.  The Christmas Greetings was stamped and then punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.  I will show you how to make the frame for the decorative label punch in the next post, so come back tomorrow to see how that's is done!!
