Valentine’s Day Stamp-A-Stack Projects

I wanted to share with you the cards we made the Valentine's Day Stamp-a-Stack last Saturday.  We had  a small group, but everyone had a great time!

We made a total of 15 projects – 3 each of five different designs.

The first one I'll share is the diamond fold card.  I saw this recently and just love the fold.

It looks complicated, but is really rather easy, once you have done one.

Here's a quick tutorial and if I get enough requests I will do a video tutorial – so……that's a hint :)  If you would like a video tutorial for this fold, just leave me a comment!!

Supplies:

Stamp Set:  Filled with Love

Card Stock:  Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray; Love Impressions Specialty Designer Series Paper (121780, page 7 Occasions Mini 2011)

Punches:  Petal Card (119273, page 202) Modern Label (119849, page 202), Word Window (119857, page 202), Full Heart (119883, page 202)

Big Shot:  Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit (117332, page 215)

Directions:

Step 1:  Cut Pretty in Pink Card Stock (I used textured card Stock) 4" x 12"

Step 2.  Draw a line on the BACK of the above piece of card at the 6" mark (I marked 6" on top and bottom and drew a line with a pencil – this helps align the folds evenly)

Step 3.  Fold from the right corner into the center to the pencil mark

Step 4. Now bring the left side up to the center and fold along the pencil mark

Step 5.  Open up these two folds and fold the opposite corners into the center

Step 6.  Now open up your card stock and turn to the RIGHT SIDE.  Fold the END into the middle of the "cross" folds

Step 7:  Turn and do the other end

Step 8.  Turn piece to the BACK SIDE and again fold the above fold into the pencil mark on both sides

This is what it looks like after folding in both ends

Step 9.  Spread out top side up and crease both sides in to make the diamond

Step 10.  Burnish all folds with the bone folder well.  This and getting the creases even will help your diamond fold card stand up.

Step 11.  Embellish your card.  On the end pieces I used a piece of Basic Gray Card Stock cut 1 7/8" x 3 7/8" and the designer series paper is 1 3/4" x 3 3/4".

On the "diamond" the basic gray pieces measures 2 5/8" square and the DSP measures 2 1/2" square.  I finished it off with a stamped heart (full heart punch) framed with the basic gray Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslit.    Then added the Happy Valentine's Day from the Teeny Tiny Wishes mounted on the Modern Label punched piece!!

This would be fun in a wedding card – hmmm – I'll share when I get it made 🙂

  1. Really love the unusal way this card folds! Thank you for preparing the tutorial on how to make the card. A video would be a really great bonus (for us visual learners).

  2. I don’t know if you go back and read comments that have been added several days later . . . but, in case you do . . . I just wanted you to know that I actually made these (without a video – which is amazing for me) for my sons and sons-in-law for Valentine’s Day. They turned out way too cool – and, can’t wait to see their faces. THANK YOU!

  3. HI Charlotte – I read EVERY comment 🙂 So yes, I read yours. I would LOVE to see pictures of yours too!! Thanks for checking out my blog!!
