Technique: Joseph’s Coat

I demoed the technique Joseph's Coat at my club meetings this month.  Just love the way this technique highlights the beautiful colors of fall!!

Here's the card I made

Joseph's coat

Stamp Set:  Autumn Splendor (116503, page 119)

Card Stock:  Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper (117163, page 175)

Ink:  Versamark (102283, page 195) Soft Suede Classic Ink

Embellishments:  Glimmer Brads Basics (121003, page 36 Holiday Mini 2010)

Punches:  Modern Label (119849, page 202), Word Window (119857, page 202)

Tools:  Brayer (102395, page 195), Heat Tool (10005, page 196), Clear Embossing Powder (109130, page 196)

Here is how I did this technique.  I stamped the leaves from Autumn Splendor on the stripe from Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper with versamark.  You can also use craft ink – I tried both on the base of the card to see how they would come out – the craft might be a bit thicker, but I can hardly tell the difference.  After stamping with versamark on the stripe, I poured clear embossing powder over the stamped images and heat set them with the heat tool.  I then took my brayer and using the darkest ink in the stripe (soft suede) I brayered over the piece – that brought out the leaves.

Really an awesome technique!!

If you do this technique, please share your link – I would LOVE to see other ideas

Stay tuned as tomorrow I will be doing the tutorial for the Jr. Legal Pads.  SO sorry I haven't done it yet – had a busy weekend with family home!!
