Quilting with paper – Club Demonstration for October

I am NOT a quilter – in any way, shape or form.  But……I DO have a "quilt" I started about 30 years ago – I have the squares done – just have never put it together.  The sewing machine intimidates me – NO TRULY it does!!

Someday I will tackle that quilt and put it together.  Wanna know what it is?

My hubby rebuilds old cards (he's working on a 1917 Model T right now – yes almost 100 years old.  It wasn't running when he bought it in September, but it is NOW!  Supposedly it was used in the Lassie movies in the 1950's.  No provinence on that, but wouldn't that be something

Back to the quilt – I took all the cars Sam has loved over the years and embroidered them "in outline" on squares – My Mom helped me and she's been gone 10 years!!  I'm going to set them together with "Ford" blue and then quilt old Ford sayings!  Guess that will have to be when I retire!!

But where was I?  Oh, I don't quilt with fabric, but I CAN quilt with paper!  Ah ha!! That's it!

I wanted to show you how to quilt with paper

Here's the card I shared

Can you see the embossing?  It really does look quilted!

What a GREAT way to use scraps of our designer series paper – SO hard to throw it out and and now it can be used!!

I started with 9 squares measuring 1 1/8" each

I adhered them to a piece of Whisper White which is 4" x 4"

Then I ran it through the Big Shot using the Petal Burst Textured Impression Embossing Folder!

Now I feel like a quilter

I LOVE to see others quilts – I truly admire anyone who has the patience to quilt!!
