Club Demo for Holiday Mugs
I wanted to share a tutorial for these cute little Holiday Mugs. This idea is on the Stampin' Up Website and will make perfect gifts for everyone for the holidays. I put candy in a couple of them and then some hot cocoa, mini marshmallows and candy canes in another one. I saw these ideas on Sarah Wills' site and just had to try them!!
For this project I used
Stamp Set: Tags 'til Christmas (WM 121735, CM 121723, page 24 Holiday Mini)
Card Stock: Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Whisper White, Candy Cane Christmas Speciality Designer Series Paper (120809, page 33 Holiday Mini 2010)
Ink: Baja Breeze
Punch: Scallop Square (119884, page 200)
Embellishment: Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (109024, page 191)
Medium Flat Cello Bags (102757, page 170)
And here's a quick tutorial
Click here to download the template for the bottom of the mug and the handle. Ignore the lined piece as it's not the right size. Print out the bottom and handle onto your card stock.
Cut a piece of baja breeze card stock 8 3/8" x 3 1/2". This will be the base of your mug. Score at 1", 2", 3", 4", 5", 6", 7" and 8"
Cut a piece of designer paper 8 3/8" x 3 1/4". Score this piece at 1", 2", 3", 4", 5", 6", 7" and 8".
Turn designer series paper over to the backside and add sticky strip to all 4 sides.
Apply designer paper to the card stock, lining up the score lines
Decide which panel you want your handle on and add two 1/4" slits to that panel
Measure down 1/2" from top of cardstock and using Hobby Blade (102449, page 199) cut a slit 1/4" long. Then measure dow 1 1/8" from the bottom of the slit and cut another slit 1/4" long
Next add sticky strip to the 1/2" tab and stick the ends together to form the mug
Cut out the circle for the bottom. You need to cut on the solid lines and add sticky strip to each little section. Then fold the sections and insert them into the bottom and press to adhere the sticky strip to the sides.
Now cut out the handle, fold it and push the ends gently into the slits you made. After pushing them in, I separated them inside and added some scotch tape to hold the handle in place.
And all that is left is to decorate and add your goodies.
Here's another one using Deck the Halls Designer Paper (120810, page 18 Holiday Mini 2010) and Always Artichoke card stock.
