Technique Tuesday for May Gingham Background with the Stripes Embossing Folder

I just absolutely LOVE Gingham and there is never enough of it out there for card making.  So…..I found this wonderful technique shared by Dawn O and we learned this technique.  

The most wonderful thing is that you can have any color you want!!!  Love it!

Here's the sample we made in class

This just TICKLES MY FANCY!! LOL

Supplies:  

Stamp Sets:  Button Buddies (WM 122735, CM 122737, page 71)

Card Stock:  Real REd, Old Olive, Whisper White

Ink:  Real Red, Old Olive 

Embellishment: 5/8" Real Red Satin Ribbon (117286, page 195)  This is being discontinued and is good WSL, so get your Satin Ribbon before it's all gone.  Click here to shop for the retiring products

Punches:  1 3/4" circle (119850, page 212), 2 3/*' Scallop0 Circle (118874, page 210), Decorative Label (120907, page 209), 

Big Shot:  Circles #2 Original Dies (114526, page 220),  Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (123128, page 218)

Tools:  Brayer, Big Shot

Instructions:  

Ink up the TOP side of yoru Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with your brayer (this is the side with the Stampin' Up Logo)

Add your card stock to the folder and run through the Big Shot

Again ink up the top side of your embossing folder with the brayer

Turn your card stock 90% and run through the Big Shot

Add to your card

On this card I used two different colors – Marina Mist and Certainly Celery for the gingham look

Stamp Set is Easy Events (WM 116958, CM 123225, page 57)

Card Stock:  Certainly Celery, Marina Mist Whisper White

Ink:  Certainly Celery, Marina Mist

Emellishment:  Certainly Celery 5/8" Satin Ribbon (117288, page 195)

Punches:  1 3/4" Circle (119850, page 212), 2 3/8" Scallop Circle (118874, page 210)

Big Shot:  Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (123128, page 218)

Card Stock:  Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Whisper White

Ink:  Marina Mist

Embellishment:  Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (109025, page 195)

Big Shot:  Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (123128, page 218), Scallop Circle #2 (113469, page 222)

Yes I have "BABY" on the mind.  My son's wife is due in just over 2 weeks.  Fun, fun…..

Identical to the "Boy" card but using Melon Mambo Ink and Pretty in Pink Ink.

I cased this card from another demonstrator and instead of using Whisper White for the gingham, I used Old Olive and did the "Gingham" look on it!!  

Stamp Set is Mouthwatering (WM 125675, CM 125677)  SO happy this set made it into the new catalog!!

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Always Artichoke.

Ink:  Always Artichoke, Melon Mambo

I used the wonder Melon Scented Embossing Powder (127034) and it REALLY smells wonderful
