Paper Pleating

Remember when we used to wear pleated skirts?  They were SO beautiful.  I'm sure they will come back into fashion one day.  I found this great tutorial on Paper Pleating here.  And, of course, I had to try it!!

Pleats2

Stamp Set:  Short & Sweet(115060, page 137)

Card Stock:  Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Bella Rosa (112041, page 159)

Ink:  Riding Hood Red

Emellishments:  5/8" Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (111374, page 178),Rhinestone Circle Fire Brad (109110, page 174)

Punches:  5-Petal Flower (109041, page 184), Large Oval (107305, page 184), Small Oval (107304, page 184), Scallop Edge (112091, page 184)

Just a quick tip:  Start with a  strip of paper approximately 1 1/2" wide. Score first at the 1" mark, then at the 1 1/2" mark, then at 2 1/2", then at 3", alternating between adding 1/2" and 1" until you get to the end of your strip.

Add a line of adhesive along one edge of your scored strip.

Accordian fold your strip. Starting with the left end, first make a mountain fold, then a valley fold, and so on, tucking each 1/2" section behind the 1" sections to form the pleats.

Have fun with this one!!  So many possibilities
