Folded Christmas Tree
I love these folded Christmas Trees. The idea was shared on Stampin' Connection by Connie Babbert and many others and it's SUCH a cool idea. Looks complicated? It isn't!!
First what it takes:
Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370, page 157)
Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Early Espresso, Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper (124002, page 28, Holiday Mini)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones (119247, page 198)
Big Shot: Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (120902, page 219), Clear Circle Bigz Clear Die (114533, page 223)
You will start with a circle. Any size circle will work – the bigger the circle the bigger your tree will be. Connie shared a "template" here When saved as a PDF file, it's a little whopper-jawed (how about THAT). But you get the idea. I used the Clear Circle Bigz die which is 4".
Cut the circle in half (you get two trees out of one circle)
Using the diagram, lightly pencil in the lines. Make sure all points come together on the straight bottom. Hard to see the lines, but I think you get the picture!!
Now fold your tree – starting at the top and the shortest line, fold a mountain fold.
The next line will be a valley fold
and the 3rd will be a mountain fold
Now was that simple or what? Love it!!
I just handcut a piece of Early Espresso for the tree trunk.
Hope you enjoyed this darling idea and even though it's a bit late for THIS year's cards (unless you are like me and haven't done your yet) you can always save the idea for next year!!
This would make a good birthday card for a man using a different designer series paper!!
