Faux Iris Twist
I saw a beautiful card on Facebook and just had to try making it. It's called Faux Iris Twist. Love the way it turned out
I will share the recipe and then give you a little tutorial
Stamp Set: Six Sided Sampler (130953 W, 130956 C, page 125)
Card Stock: Coastal Cabana, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper (131390, page 151)
Ink: Coastal Cabana
Punch: 2 1/2" Circle (120906, page 182)
Embellishments: Coastal Cabana 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim (130024, page 173); In-Color Boutique Details (130938, page 169)
And here's how to do this cute card
1. Cut out 4 pieces of 3 different coordinating designer series papers 3" x 1/2". I used Afternoon Picnic
2. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 3 1/8" x 3 1/8" and one circle (any color) with the 2 1/2" circle punch
3. Draw around the 2 1/2" punch piece on your 3 1/8" square Whisper White with a pencil. Now using the circle punch punch out the circle on the Whisper White (this will be the back side of your piece)
4. Add adhesive to the corners
5. Start by adding one of the 3" x 1/2" pieces – turn over and center it in one corner. Do this all the way around adding adhesive on the back as needed

6. Add second set of 3" x 1/2" pieces to the corners
7. Add the third layer
8. After adhering all pieces, cut off the excess around the edges with your paper snips
9. Cut a piece of Coastal Cabana card stock 3 3/8" square. Stamp sentiment on a small piece of Whisper White. Add some adhesive to the back of the sentiment and line up in center. Adhere sentiment to coastal cabana piece.
10. Add dimensionals to the top piece and then adhere over sentiment. This gives dimension to the sentiment
11. Add 2 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Afternoon Picnic to a piece of Wisteria Wonder cut 2 1/2" x 5 1/2". Add small piece of 3/8" Coastal Cabana Stretch Trim to bottom and adhere to front of card. Add In-Color Boutique piece over ribbon with glue dots.
12. Adhere iris twist piece on front of card
Isn't that just adorable. LOVE the look!
