Calendar/Post-it Note/Easel Gift
A few posts ago I shared this great gift we made in our November club meeting. I made a bunch of them for gifts this year and everyone loved them! My sister went a step farther and made envelopes to put them in using the Envelope Punch Board. I wanted to share her GREAT idea. Click here for dimensions and a downloable template for how to make these useful gifts
Here's the project
And then Elaine's envelope she created using the Envelope Punch Board
I just LOVE it. She added the coordinating designer series paper to the front AND back of the envelope. She used the Blackberry Bliss card stock, which makes it much more durable and you could send it through the mail!
We were visiting about her making another one and I suggested using the NEW products from the 2015 Occasions Catalog. Which, BTW, will be available to purchase from TOMORROW!!
As we were talking about it and I was making suggestions, I just HAD to run down to my craft room and make one!!
Here's what I came up with.
And the envelope
The back
Here they are together
Did you know there is a really neat tool shared by Joanne James a Stampin' Up Demonstrator in Northhampton, UK using the Envelope Punch Board to make boxes?
It's called the Box Buster and you can put in the measurements of the box you need and it will figure the size of paper and the scores you need to make!
Click here and you can see her site! It's a wonderful site and I LOVE using it!!
The calendar measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and I needed it to be about 1/4" larger and 1/4" thick. I put in the numbers in the Box Buster and came up with
Cut Card Stock 9 3/8" x 9 3/8"
First Score is 4 1/2"
Second Score is at 4 7/8"
So you start by punching and scoring at the 4 1/2" mark, then move your paper over to the 4 7/8" mark and again punch and score.
You score and punch two opposite sides and then line up the score lines you just made and score and punch on the other two sides. You use the scoring guide to line up the two score lines and then punch and score
Here's the Scoring Guide
Clear as mud? LOL – please feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions! I suggest trying it on a piece of copy paper first!
I hope that helps you
Here are the products I used – just remember the 2015 Occasions Catalog doesn't go "live" until tomorrow, January 6th, so some of these products won't be available until then
