Herringbone Technique

Have you seen the technique called Herringbone.  Shelly, my downline shared a card with me, so this became one our projects at our monthly club meeting!!  A fun technique and a GREAT way to use up your scraps from designer series paper.  Hate to waste that beautiful paper.

We used the Springtime Vintage Designer Series paper and each club member either a "blue" card or a "rose red" card.  Just love the fact that the Springtime Vintage DSP has such a great variety of colors.

Here's a little tutorial on how to do the Herringbone Technique

First the cards we made

Step 3.  Apply one piece of DSP across the sticky page

Step 4.  The next steps will fill in the areas around the first strip.  Start by adding one strip perpendicular to the first piece.  Then add the second piece to shape a “V”.

Step 5.  Now carefully turn your piece over and snip off the pieces along the sides with paper snips

When you flip it back, this is what it looks like after snipping.

Step 6.  Add another “V” in this same area

  1. Hi Jan,
This is a lovely way to make a huge impression card-wise and use up left over paper! I love this idea.
    Thanks for sharing.
